What is the Center-Tap BMS?
The term "Center Tap BMS" typically refers to a Battery Management System (BMS) designed for use with a center-tapped battery pack. In a center-tapped battery pack, the cells are connected in series, and the midpoint of the series connection is tapped to provide a reference point. This midpoint, also known as the center tap, divides the battery pack into two equal halves. The Center Tap BMS is specifically designed to monitor and manage the individual cells or groups of cells on each side of the center tap. It ensures the balanced charging and discharging of the battery pack by monitoring the voltage and temperature of each cell or group of cells and controlling the charging and discharging process.
